According to a report from KWBU, Texas has formalized an Early Childhood Inclusion Plan for 2026–2030 to improve educational outcomes for children with disabilities in McLennan County and across the state. Developed by the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, and the Texas Workforce Commission, the initiative follows a survey of over 1,200 families and educators. Findings indicate a critical shortage of specialized personnel—including occupational and speech therapists—as a primary barrier to integrated classrooms. The plan advocates for enhanced teacher training, reduced class sizes, and improved cross-agency coordination.
